Sunbrella is solution-dyed — colour is locked into the fibre rather than applied to the surface, so it resists fading far better than standard fabrics. Ordinary canopy fabric typically starts fading after 1–2 summers; Sunbrella holds its colour for 5–7 years, which suits Hong Kong's year-round high UV. It is also mould-resistant and easy to clean.

Sunbrella is UPF 50+ certified, blocking over 98% of UV rays. Originally engineered for yachts and outdoor furniture, it handles tropical sun without issue — after a full Hong Kong summer of continuous use, colour degradation measures under 5%, far better than conventional polyester canopies.

The Sunbrella fabric itself carries a 5-year fade warranty from the manufacturer. We add 1 year of full coverage on the frame and ribs against manufacturing defects. For hotels and clubs needing extended cover on long-term supply, contact us to discuss a corporate arrangement.

Yes — Sunbrella is designed to be cleaned:

1. Light stains: wipe with clean water and a mild soap solution, then air dry
2. Heavy stains (bird droppings, grease, red wine): diluted bleach (1:8) is safe and will not affect the colour
3. A deep clean every 6–12 months is recommended

Cleaning preserves the original water and UV resistance.

Sunbrella is imported from the USA and costs 3–5× more per metre than standard polyester. It also lasts 3–4× longer, so the total cost of ownership is actually lower. It suits hotels, clubs, property managers and premium homes that need long service life. For occasional home use, our standard fabric umbrellas are a sensible choice.

We stock 2.5m to 3m square and round Sunbrella parasols in khaki, white, grey and light blue. Special colours or sizes (brand colour matching, oversized 3.5m) can be made to order — custom lead time is roughly 4–6 weeks.
